	Portraits and Busts


	This genre has long been the vehicle used by artists not only to study the techniques of painting but to fund other work they desired to do which may not be popular. For example, Picasso spent many years as a very successful portrait painter and used his popularity as a portrait artist to enable him to go on to other genres. Vincent Van Gogh is another well-known example. Portraiture , as a collection, can be a very interesting historical study taking one through time with specific faces.
